

Software Engineer
ABOUT THIS ROLE
nVenue is looking to grow our sports offerings from 2 to a dozen in the next year and are looking for someone with a love of software and sports to come help us do that!
Our ideal software engineering candidate likes to tinker, isn’t afraid to try new things and make mistakes but always learns from them and enjoys all kinds of sports.
Responsibilities:
- Work with team to design and develop and test our sports technology stack (APIs, database integration, and new features)
- Performance analysis on various subsystems to help optimize existing solutions
- Help guide and enforce best practices for software development
- Lead code reviews with other engineers
Technology Requirements:
We realize that ideal software engineers are able to use multiple tools to do the job and are able to identify the right tool or learn tools they are not familiar with. However, there are some pieces we use currently that we would love to see you have experience with:
- Python, including machine learning packages such as sklearn and pytorch
- Ruby (Rails) and popular “Active” gems
- React Native for some light front end work
Other requirements:
- Minimum 1 years experience in software engineering
- US work authorization
- Knowledge and experience with Linux CLI
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently most of the time
- Works well with other team members to accomplish a goal
- Experience with CI/CD environments and practices
Nice to have requirements:
- Experience with cloud architecture (AWS)
- Exposure to Tensorflow and other ML frameworks
- Ability to create and manage REST and GraphQL APIs
This is a remote position. We have employees in Dallas, Houston and Austin currently. We love to get together when we can because in person meetings can be very beneficial. However, we recognize the ability for many individuals to be highly effective in their own environment.
