MLS NEXT provides the best player development experience in North America. Founded on a collaborative approach to governance and a dedication to innovation, MLS NEXT provides players access to the highest levels of competition and training to prepare them for their futures, both in soccer and in life. The Senior Coordinator will be accountable to the performance and development of MLS NEXT. This role will own the performance evaluation process, development of competition structure, and assist with various aspects of MLS NEXT programs, including governance, technology, comprehensive player development programming, athlete management system development, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with MLS NEXT club and member registration
  • Partner with the MLS NEXT team in administrative execution of national events and MLS NEXT competitions including scheduling, discipline, game data, and referees
  • Contribute to the implementation of new MLS NEXT procedures and initiatives
  • Oversee and administer the approval process for MLS NEXT Club Forms
  • Manage weekend operations hotline
  • Assist in the collection of match reports
  • Monitor daily schedule requests from clubs
  • Act as a staff liaison to MLS NEXT Working Groups and Committees
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of MLS NEXT Technical Standards, Competition Guidelines and Disciplinary Code
  • Assist with management of budget, critical initiatives, and project management of MLS NEXT
  • Support internal and external MLS NEXT membership expansion including but not limited to creation and collation of applications, applicant review process, new club onboarding, and supporting expansion strategies for each division
  • Coordination with other MLS/SUM departments supporting MLS NEXT
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience with 1+ years in a high performance environment with elite athletes and 1+ years of project management experience

Required Skills

  • Deep knowledge and interest in Major League Soccer and player development
  • High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, collaborative team environment with a commitment to building positive team environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • St r ong leadership ability and presence
  • Ability to travel (20-30%) and work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holiday s
  • Experience working within talent development environments
  • Understand global trends in high performance sport
  • Proven track record of developing and measuring the success of athletic performance programs

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)
  • Knowledge of the sport of soccer

Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary: $62,400 - $68,000.
